A Natural Clean with dōTERRA® SPA Bath Bars

Spa Bath Bar Spa Bath BarsThe study of chemistry helps us both understand and classify materials and how they interact with one another. In this view, chemistry is an important part of the products we use on a daily basis. For example, when you use a bar of soap, you’re unlikely to be thinking about how the ingredients are working with your skin, but it’s happening all the same.

So, when choosing products for you and your family it’s important to understand how a product’s ingredients can help or hinder your body’s natural processes. Unfortunately, common brands of soaps and bath bars can hide a variety of problematic ingredients.

At doTERRA we believe that not everyone needs a doctorate in chemistry in order to keep their family safe and healthy. We do the work in selecting safe ingredients in every product so that you don’t have to worry. Every doTERRA SPA bath product is made from high-quality ingredients, and fragranced with essential oils. Aside from the essential oils used, learn more about all the ingredients in our SPA bath bars below.

Moisturizing Bath Bar

You can click on the above link to find out about where each ingredient comes from and why it’s used. The Moisturizing Bath Bar, featuring the refreshing benefits of Grapefruit and Bergamot, is the perfect for almost any skin type, even for those with more sensitive skin.

Aloe Vera. Purifies, soothes, moisturizes, and softens the skin
Citric Acid. A naturally occurring acid that keeps the bar in the perfect pH range
Galactoarabinan. A sugar from trees that keeps the bar stable once it is being used
Glycerin. Helps the skin retain moisture
Jojoba seed oil. An intense moisturizer (actually a liquid wax)
Sodium Chloride (table salt). Thickening ingredient that helps create the texture of the bar
Sodium Gluconate. A sugar acid that acts as a binding agent and prevents other chemical activity, and helps keep the bar stable in the packaging
Sodium Palmate and Sodium Cocoate. Both are separate plant-based cleansers
Tocopherol. Vitamin E, a natural antioxidant
Water. Purified water forms the base for the entire recipe
doTERRA Serenity® Bath Bar
The doTERRA Serenity Bath Bar is made with the soothing blend from which it gets its name: the doTERRA Serenity® Restful Blend. All ingredients from the Moisturizing Bath Bar are in the Serenity Bath Bar, with the addition of Kaolin, a natural clay that gives the bar it’s lavender color.

Citrus Bliss® Bath Bar

The added benefits of the Citrus Bliss® blend make the Invigorating Bath Bar an energizing and uplifting cleansing experience. Containing the Jojoba oil, Sodium Palmate, and Sodium Cocoate like the other bars, the Citrus Bliss bar has these additional ingredients:
Sodium Sunflowerate and/or Sodium Safflowerate. Additional natural high oleic acid cleansers
Avena sativa (Oat) Kernel Meal. Used to naturally exfoliate and soothe skin
Rosemary Extract. Helps to stabilize the bar
If you’re not the bath bar type, the doTERRA SPA Refreshing Body Wash could be exactly what you’re looking for. It is made with Bergamot, Grapefruit, and Cedarwood essential oils (similar to the scent of the Moisturizing Bath Bar) with natural surfactants derived from coconut oil and essential fatty acids.
